It does make one wonder how often this really does happen. I mean, this is a famous performer, and there is hardly a whisper. What about your run of the mill gay man? But that's nothing compared to how gays are destroying the fabric of society and "doing violence on children" as fuhrer Ratzinger would say.
I have to agree with Kalvin. Where is the breaking news story or where was this on the nightly news? But believe me if this was Tom Cruise who was beaten by Christians CNN would have covered the story 10,000 times by the end of the day. I also have to agree with Kalvin the Right Wing always blames us gays for the destruction of society and molesting children, apparently they seem to turn a blind eye when straight people do it or even worse priests. I wonder who really is destroying the fabric of society the church and politics who are supposed to be seperate? Or the peace loving gay folks who just want to live their lives without fear and worry? I ask you that Mr. Bush (and yes I say Mr.). I ask you that Mr. Falwell? I ask you that Mr. Phelps and all your minions. Gay people need to unite and stand strong, we need to show others we are here for good and their is no denying us or our rights!

That's not what I read in my Bible.
"For the Son of man is not come to destroy mens lives, but to save them..." (Luke 9:56, KJV)
Nobody can deny that there is some pretty harsh stuff in the Bible (especially in the Old Testament)... but most of those laws were for the Covenant nation of Israel - the ancient theocracy where God directly ruled the Jewish people.
That law existed to prove that nobody is capable of living up to God's standards. It shows that we are all sinners. (Romans 6:23)
Regardless of our homo- or hetero- orientation, He is a holy God: He will not and cannot tolerate sin in His presence.
The REAL Christian is the one who believes that but God sent His Son (Jesus) to save men's (and women's) souls from the hell we deserve by dying on the cross, and receiving our just punishment on Himself.
A REAL Christian (by the power of the Holy Spirit within him) strives to reach out to this lost and dying world with Jesus's love, not with baseball bats or worse, the endorsement of violence again unbeleivers ....in this, we differ greatly from the devout ummah who desire to convert the Dar-al-Harb (the non-Islamic world) to Islam at the point of the sword.
Nevertheless, many hypocrites and false "Xtians" exist and cause much harm to the cause of Christ through thier bigoted prejudices and self-righteousness.

Hate crimes happen all the time, without even a mention on the news. For example, Matt Bender (Madge's show notes writer) was recently a victim here in Chicago and not even a mention on any of the local news stations.
However, they did report that obesity may be caused by a virus, so THANK GOD for that! I don't know how I would have survived without knowing about that breaking news story.

Few people who profess to be Christians (and Christian leaders at that) actually strive to imitate Christ's examples of humility, sacrafice, faith and love.
True biblical Christianity isn't about "denying basic civil rights to any gays and non-WASPs".
Nor is it about deposing foreign despots or picketing funerals or any of the other nonsense that seems to be coming out of the woodwork... or worse, beating up drag queens in some twisted logic that says "God justified it".
True Christianity works to change our lives from the heart, and give us power (in Christ) to overcome our old sinful, selfish, proud nature. It helps us to love other people, even if they are incapable of loving us.
